It’s time for students to apply for student finance!

All full-time undergraduate student finance applications for 2024 to 2025 academic year are now open! The easiest way for students to apply is online (opens in a new tab) through the Student Finance Wales website.

Remember to let your continuing students know that they’ll need to re-apply for their funding every year through their online account (opens in a new tab).

Application deadlines

You should encourage students to apply before the deadline to make sure their funding is ready for starting their course!

- New students – 31 May
- Returning students – 28 June

Students can apply for funding even if they don’t have a confirmed place on a course yet. They should give us the details of their preferred course and change it later if they need to.

Tuition fee only students

Students who qualify for a Tuition Fee Loan only, should apply using the Tuition Fee Loan application form.

Part-time undergraduate and postgraduate applications

Part-time undergraduate applications are expected to open by the end of May 2024.

Postgraduate applications are expected to open by the end of June 2024.
