This page explains the student finance available to part-time students who started their course on or after 1 August 2019.

Welsh Government Learning Grant and Maintenance Loan

You can apply for a Welsh Government Learning Grant (WGLG) and Maintenance Loan to help with living costs, such as food, books, rent and other expenses, while you’re studying.The amount you can get depends on your course intensity and household income.

We’ll work out how much Welsh Government Learning Grant you can get and then the rest of your student finance will be awarded as a Maintenance Loan.

How much can you get?

The following table shows the maximum amount you can get based on your course intensity and household income.

You must be studying at a course intensity of at least 25% to get WGLG and Maintenance Loan.
