Policy changes for academic year 2019 to 2020 are subject to regulatory approval by the Welsh Assembly
Financial support available - courses starting after 1 August 2019
Eligible students can get a maximum of £17,000 as a combination of loan and grant from Student Finance Wales for their postgraduate Master's course to help with their course and living costs. The amount of loan and grant they'll get depends on their household income.
Students can get:
- a maximum grant of £6,885 and a loan of up to £10,115 if their household income is £18,370 or below,
- a grant of £1,000 and a maximum loan of £16,000 if their household income isn't taken in to account or if it's above £59,200, or
- a grant of between £1,000 and £6,885 and a loan of between £10,115 and £16,000 if their household income is between £18,370 and £59,200.
All eligible students will be entitled to a grant of at least £1,000 regardless of their household income.
Financial support available - courses starting between 1 August 2018 and 31 July 2019
Eligible students can get a Postgraduate Master's Loan of up to £13,000 from Student Finance Wales to help with their course and living costs.
