Welsh Government Learning Grant FE is an income-assessed grant of up to £1,500 that aims to encourage more people to continue with their education. A few factors will decide your eligibility:
To get Welsh Government Learning Grant FE you must be aged 19 or over. So for academic year 2018/19 you must be 19 on 1st September 2018.
Your course must:
- Be at least 275 hours;
- Be at a participating college; and
- Lead to a nationally recognised qualification.
There are lots of courses you can do such as:
- ‘A’ or ‘AS’ levels;
- BTEC, GNVQ, NVQ courses; and
- Basic Skills courses.
Your course must be ‘eligible’ for Welsh Government Learning Grant FE support. Your college can tell you if the course you want to do is eligible.
Your household income
Your household income must be £18,370 or less in order to receive Welsh Government Learning Grant FE.
Your nationality and residency status
If you are a UK citizen living in Wales, you should be eligible for Welsh Government Learning Grant FE. If you’re not a UK citizen you may still be eligible for Welsh Government Learning Grant FE.
