  1. Our contact centres have partially re-opened 08-04-2020

Following a temporary closure, we’re happy to confirm that our customer contact centres have partially re-opened. However, we expect our telephone lines to be very busy as we have a reduced number of staff available. We’ll continue working to restore more of our services over the coming weeks.

Currently, we’re prioritising urgent student finance cases and we ask that you only call for urgent matters, you should not call for general queries. You can visit our Contact us page for information on telephone numbers and opening times.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and trust you understand the reasons for these changes and the importance of the measures we’ve taken.

  5. Welsh language text messaging coming soon to a mobile near you!

As a Student Finance Wales customer, you’re probably used to getting text messages from us. We send messages throughout the year to all of our customers to make sure we’re keeping you up to date with your student finance applications and payments.

As part of the Welsh Government’s duty to promote the use of Welsh and give Welsh speakers the right to access information and services in Welsh, we already provide most of your Student Finance information and services in Welsh. This will shortly include the regular text messaging that we send to you, with the Welsh language version of the message first.

We recently surveyed a group of customers in Wales who expressed an overwhelming preference to receive both the Welsh and English language messages in one text, rather than in separate messages, so we’ll build them in this way.

Make sure you keep receiving important updates and reminders from us by keeping your contact details up to date!
