The Welsh Bursary Scheme

This information is for students who would like to know more about the additional financial support package being introduced by the Welsh Assembly Government, in the form of bursary awards from universities and colleges in Wales.

Universities and colleges in Wales are committed to providing additional support for students under the Welsh Bursary Scheme. Every full-time higher education student who started their first year of higher education on or after 1 September 2007, regardless of where they come from in the UK, will be considered for a means tested Welsh Bursary. For continuing students the minimum Welsh Bursary will be £329. For new students the bursary rate will be subject to decision regarding the revised National Bursary Framework for Wales.

Individual institutions may also be offering increased or additional bursary and scholarship awards. Ask your chosen university or college for further details, or use the links below to find out more
